And how to put this? I’ll just say it bluntly: An OpenAI spinoff has built an AI model that helps robots learn tasks like humans. All of this just as I was thinking of the AI coding agent called Devin. It seems like some aspects of automation and AI agents got their cue that 2024 is a big reveal year.
Covariant AI who got $75 million last year in a Series C, is making some improvements to the scope of their work. They announced the launch of RFM-1 (Robotics Foundation Model 1). Peter Chen, the co-founder and CEO of the UC Berkeley artificial intelligence spinout tells TechCrunch the platform, “is basically a large language model (LLM), but for robot language.”
